Bobby Roland May, age 89, of Pascagoula passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. He was born January 26, 1934 in Foxworth, Mississippi. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of VFW and American Legion in Pascagoula. Mr. Bobby was the owner of May’s Superburger on Market Street in Pascagoula from 1978-1988. In 1996, he retired from the Paint Department at Ingalls Shipbuilding after 26 years of employment.
Mr. Bobby was an active member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church in Pascagoula and enjoy the church’s Men’s group. Bobby married the love of his life and celebrate their anniversary of 68 years on Thursday, Feb. 2. He continued to count the years he stayed devoted to her even after her passing. He re-united with her the very next day on February 3, 2023 once again to celebrate their every lasting union together. Mr. May was the 5th child to survive of the 8 children. He will be remembered for the love he had for God, family, church family, friends, his community and service to his county.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Annis Ruth May; grandson, Joshua Allen May; parents, Clifford Edward and Nellie Allen May; grandson, Joshua Allen May; four sisters, and three brothers; daughter, LaDonna Cox that sadly passed unexpectedly away on the day after Mr. May’s passing, February 4, 2023.
Mr. Bobby is survived by his two sons, Bobby D. May (Lori), Escatawpa and Clifford Allen May (Ester), Pascagoula, son-in-law, John Cox, Pascagoula; He was loving called “Pa-Paw” by his 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren ; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative, friends, and loving church family.
