Beulah May (Carr) Lubis, was born in July 1931, raised in Laurel, MD. Daughter of Beulah and Nicholas (Hobbs) Carr, she was the middle child of 10 brothers and sisters. Known to family and friends as “Bea” she was predeceased by her beloved husband William (Bill) in 2009. Their children are Cathleen Lubis Kirk and her husband Bob, of Silverthorne Colorado; Ted Lubis and his wife, Julia, of Fulton, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Michael and Carrie Lubis. She is also survived by her dear sister, Naomi Kaiser; and Donna Carr, wife of her beloved brother Riley Carr (deceased). She was loved by nieces and nephews, and was especially fond of Betsy (Long) Beachum, who was always there for her, and she delighted in Betsy’s company. Veronica, long term caretaker, became a special friend.
Bea graduated from Elkridge High School, and worked as a Secretary at the Department of Agriculture, until her retirement in 1995.
Bea and Bill met at High’s on main street in Laurel MD when he went in to buy an ice cream cone, and she was the girl behind the counter. He always said she was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. They were married for 55 years and together enjoyed renovating older homes in Savage, MD.
Bea enjoyed traveling, Mother/Daughter vacations, craft/antique markets, crossword puzzles, classic movies, and weekend breakfast.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
