Beatrice Lundeen, 93, of Alvarado, MN, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at North Valley Health Center, Warren, MN.
Beatrice Adeline Johnson was born on March 28, 1922, in Oslo, MN, to Julius and Olga (Hendrickson) Johnson. She attended country school in Oak Park Township and Lakeside School. As a girl, she stayed home to care for her younger brothers while everyone else worked in the fields. She moved out at the age of 15 and worked on various farmsteads doing the cooking and cleaning.
Beatrice married Oscar Lundeen on May 18, 1946, in the Lutheran church parsonage in Warren. The young couple made their home in Alvarado, where they raised twin daughters and lived their entire married lives. Oscar passed away in August of 1975.
Beatrice was an amazing woman who was liked by everyone she came in contact with. She was also very determined. She earned her drivers license at the age of 54 so that she could get a job in Warren. She worked at the Good Samaritan Center for many years and always enjoyed the residents and her co-workers. She moved into live at the Good Samaritan Center, herself, in June of 2010.
Beatrice is survived by her two daughters, DeLana (Hutch) Johnson and Diane (Mike) McClellan; four grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) McClellan, Lindsey (Dan) Bervig, Brett (Ashley) Johnson, and Amy McClellan; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Carlson; two brothers, Ernest and Dennis Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Carmen and Ryan Johnson; brother, Carl; sister, Mildred; and niece, Judy Stengrim.
