 Brunswick – Augustin (Gus) Louis Bergeron, aged 91, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, at his home in Brunswick, Maine, surrounded by his family.

                Gus was born in Brunswick on May 29, 1926, the son of Augustin and Pamela (Bois) Bergeron. He graduated 8th grade from St. John’s, and then let education give way to working hard.

                After leaving the military, Gus worked in construction for many years, and then transitioned into working for the Brunswick School Department as a custodian for the Junior High School. He retired from the School Department in 1991 and then devoted his full attention to his family.

                Gus was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Alcide, Henri, Gerard, Robert (Archie), Conrad (Jackie), and Alfred (Pete) Bergeron; and sisters, Clemence (Mortimer), Berthe (Labbe), Grace (Allard), Florence, Pauline (Saucier), and Irene (Hutchinson.) He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 65 years, Pearl; as well as his sons, Paul, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Brunswick, Gary and his wife, Sue, and Steven and his wife, Debbie, of Freeport; his daughters, Elaine, of Brunswick, and Joyce Walker and her husband, Gregory, of Boothbay Harbor; and his son-in-law, Paul Lawrence of Fairfield. He also leaves behind his brother, Raymond, and his wife, Patricia; his sister, Cecile Baxter and her husband, Wilfred; his grandsons, Scott, Aaron, and Jake Bergeron, and Maxx Bergeron-Lawrence; his granddaughters, April Hawks, and her husband, Christopher, Melinda Bergeron-Lawrence, Gina Bergeron, and Clarissa Bernardini and her husband, Daniel (Ben.); great-grandchildren, Kayden McKinley, Greg, Austin, and Spencer Hawks, and Mae Bernardini, who will all miss him tremendously. We love you, Gus, Dad, Pepere. Forever.
