Audrey Naomi Housewright, nee Fannon, was born Sunday, August 10, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late George Clay “Jim” Fannon and Naomi Lee “Oma” nee Moreland Fannon. She passed away Saturday evening, August 4, 2007 at the Gibbs Care Center, in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 25 days.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by two sisters, Lina Corine Fannon and Georgia Elnora Moreland. On August 15, 1942, at St. Louis, Missouri, Audrey was united in marriage to Jewell “Pete” Housewright. This union was blessed with three sons. They enjoyed fifty-two years together before Pete passed away on March 16, 1995. Audrey was the much loved secretary for the Crawford County R-3 Elementary School for 25 years. She was a faithful worker and member of the First Church of God of St. James, Missouri.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her three sons, John Housewright and Geri of St. Peters, Missouri; Robert Housewright and wife Kay, Doug Housewright and wife Beverly all of Steelville, Missouri; one daughter-in-law Mary Housewright of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters, Virginia Huffman of Vichy, Missouri and Erma Gude of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters-in-law “Peg” Line and husband Myrl of Rolla, Missouri, Norma Housewright of St. Peters, Missouri and Mildred Housewright of Annapolis, Maryland; twelve grandchildren, Cindy and husband Vince Miles of St. Charles, Missouri, Chris and husband Kevin Williams of Cuba, Missouri, Connie and husband Bob Heady of Sullivan, Missouri, Susan Housewright of Rock Hill, Missouri, Jennifer and Lindsay Housewright of Union, Missouri, Sara and husband Christopher Brownsworth of Columbia, Missouri, Amy Housewright of Springfield, Missouri, Shawna and husband Eric Anderson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Joshua Housewright and wife Hannah of Rolla, Missouri, Jennifer and husband John Rasmussen of Spring, Texas, and Adam Housewright and wife Kelly of Steelville, Missouri; nineteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and family friends.
