Ashton Bienville Cannon, III, age 66, of Forts Lake, passed away on July 26, 2022, at his cabin in the woods. He was born December 12, 1955, in Mobile, AL. He traveled with his parents until the age of 18, then returned to live and make his home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a former employee of Boja’s in Bayou La Batre, AL; Mississippi Chemical in Pascagoula; Blossman Gas in Pascagoula, Vancleave, and D’Iberville; International Paper in Moss Point; Perdido Trucking in Mobile, AL; Jackson County Road Department in Vancleave and Moss Point, MS, and Huntington Ingalls on both East and West Banks.
Ashton and his beloved wife, Lisa, lived a full life enjoying cooking, building projects, remodeling homes, improving their property, Crusin’ the Coast, traveling, and entertaining guests at their cabin.
Ashton leaves to cherish memories made with his “beautiful brunette” wife of 42-years, 11-months, and 19-days, Lisa Clark Cannon; his brothers, Robert J. (Judy) Clark, Glenn R. (Shani) Clark, Austin E. (Wanda) Clark, and James C. (Sheila) Cannon; his sisters, Annette (Darrell) Clark Stringfellow and Denise (Michael) Clark Lewis. Also included are numerous nieces and nephews: Johnny Clark, Anice Stringfellow Goff, Jason Clark, Cristen Clark Ford, Danlee Clark Budney, Brooke Lewis French, Brad Clark, Michael Clark, Michael Cannon, and Andrew Cannon; two very special young men, Emmett and Carter Clark, who fondly called Ashton, “Papa”, a cherished term of endearment. He also leaves a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews… including several due within the next few months! Ashton enjoyed the company of many dear friends: Hacy E Green, Dennis Clark (who custom-made Ashton’s urn); Ira Lundy; T.J Ellis, Cheryl Hamilton, and many, many others. He joins those who departed this earth before him: Parents, James E. and Doris Jean Benefield Clark; AB and Carolyn Everett Cannon; a special family, Cleave and Virginia Harrell of Escatawpa; and his brother, MAJ Michael Green. Ashton would say, “This is the day which the Lord hath made, We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
