Arnold Paul Morrison, 86, Gray passed on to heaven on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2014 after a short illness. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
Arnold was born on October 9, 1927 to Elsie and Webster Morrison. He grew up in New Gloucester, graduating 2nd in his class from New Gloucester High School. Arnold married Doris McDonald on January 26, 1948. Many friends called him Arnie.
He was a life long member of the New Gloucester Bible Church. Arnold was a quiet man, a man of few words, who was worth listening to when he spoke. He was a great listener, and never said a bad word about anyone. He was a wise man in many ways. Arnold’s granddaughter Katie remembered his smiling eyes.
Arnold was a farmer and a enjoyed gardening. In addition to his own farm, he was head farmer at the Opportunity Farm for many years.
Arnold became a care taker for the cemeteries in Gray, and mowed the golf courses at Spring Meadows. Arnold enjoyed time spent with his family.
Arnold is predeceased by his parents and his brother Willard. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris Morrison, 6 children and their spouses, Donald and Elaine, Joyce and Dennis, Galen and Karen, Kathy and Bruce, Sylvia and Scott, and Kevin and Tina . They were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
