Aline Belanger Corriveau, 91, passed away on January 14, 2021, in Fort Kent ME. She was born on June 27, 1929, in Collin, NB Canada to Michel Belanger and Delia Laplante Belanger. Aline completed her high school education at the Convent of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary in Rimouski, NB Canada. She was in the novitiate for 6 years prior to discerning that being a religious was not what her vocation in life was to be and for which we, her family, are forever grateful. Once she returned home, she worked at then, Fraser Papers, as a paper counter and then at a pharmacy in Madawaska ME where Gedeon’s sister, Gabrielle, would introduce her to the love of her life. They married in 1953 and enjoyed65 love filled years together and raised their 8 children. With the youngest of their children in school, she went to work at Dr. Levesque school in Frenchville as a teacher’s aide working in various classroom, grade levels including special education. She retired having made many wonderful and lifelong friendships with both students and staff. Aline lived her life of faith loving all who entered her life, always having an extra place at the table, often saying “what is one more”. In 1977, she grieved the tragic loss of their youngest son with much grace and reliance on her faith and God. She served her parish community whether it was as a sacristan, teaching religious education to children, belonging to the Ladies of St. Anne and through the RCIA program teaching others about her faith and much-loved church. She was always eager to attend local retreats and shared her faith in her quiet, beautiful way. Each of her children had an assigned day of the week for which she would pray for their intentions and needs as well as being the “go to” intercessor for future spouses for her grandchildren. She was part of the “prayer line” ministry and belonged to the Ladies Auxillary supporting their efforts and programs to assist others. She also had a wonderful sense of humor that was quick at times. She was much loved by her family and friends and made the best pies and ployes. She always made sure everyone was well fed and her home was open to all. Her love and relationships with her siblings were always and remainan inspiration to us all. She would often say that she loved all her children equally. She is now reunited with the love of her life who she missed so very much.
She is survived by her sons, George (Jocelyne), Michael (Rilda); daughters Rose Michaud (Donald), CecileGoslin, Monique Pelletier (Tom), Lisa Daigle (Jim) and Nicole Corriveau (William); as well as 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; brothers Aldeo (Rina) and Lucien; sisters Micheline, Irma and Liette (Romain) as well as many nieces and nephews; brothers in law Ronald Corriveau, Ronald Belanger (Louise Anne), GuilemondOuellette (Carole); sisters in law Jacqueline Belanger, Gisele Belanger.
