Alfred Hebert, 89, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks, ND.

Alfred Hebert was born on Sept. 4, 1919 in Argyle, the son of Philip and Clara (Deschene) Hebert. He was a life long resident of the Argyle community where he attended St. Rose Catholic School. Alfred also attended the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN. On June 4, 1946, he married Pearl Riel. They made their home in Argyle where he farmed. Alfred retired from farming in the early 80’s. Pearl died on Jan. 29, 1989. In Oct. of 1991, he married Doris Schantzen. She died on Feb. 2, 2000.

He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Alfred enjoyed dancing, card playing, golfing, shaking dice for coffee and ice fishing. He went for his first Jet Ski ride when he was 80. Alfred also enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ (1989 – 2006).

Left to mourn his passing are special friend, Marie Kvasager of Grand Forks, ND; seven children, Dick (Carole) Hebert of Mentor, MN, Sandy (Mark) Mosher of Crookston, MN, Rolland Hebert of Seattle, WA, James (Joan) Hebert of Fargo, ND, Jerome (Margaret) Hebert of Eaton, CO, Pam (Tom) McMahon of Thief River Falls, MN and Cheryl Fairchild of Boulder City, NV; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (John) Runa of White Bear Lake, MN and RoseAnn (Jerry) Driscoll of Mentor, MN; two brothers, Arthur (Frances) Hebert of Argyle, MN and Donald (Jane) Hebert of Albert Lea, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marie Stucynski and Leah Johnson and two brothers, Leon and Paul.
