Albert Monro Halbert, 84, of Steelville, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born October 6, 1927 in Courtois, MO to Warfel Halbert and Dora Causey Halbert. On February 7, 1953 in Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Erma Cassidy who preceded him in death in 1981.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947.
Albert worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator in the 1940’s for the Crawford Co. Road District, in the 1950’s he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in California, Trinidad Asphalt Co. in Missouri, from 1968 to 1976 for Martin Construction Co. in Crawford Co., in the early 1980’s building the nuclear power plant in Fulton, and from 1984 to 1998 when he retired from the Crawford Co. Road District.
