Albert “Lee” Vaughn of Salem, Missouri passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 29 days. Lee was born January 16, 1918 in Sligo, Missouri to Albert Mitchell Vaughn and Rosa Belle King Vaughn. He was united in marriage to Anna Elizabeth Hutson on October 5, 1940 and to this union three children were born. He worked at General Motors in St. Louis as a foreman on the Chevrolet passenger car line and retired after twenty-eight years of service. He was also an expert painter and paperhanger as a side job for many years and taught his children and others the skills. Lee moved back to the sight of his childhood home in the Sligo/Cook Station area in 1995 and on July 13, 2000 he married Kathleen Pendleton.

For many years, he was a member of the Bellefontaine Neighbors Baptist Church in North St. Louis county.

He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathleen Vaughn of Salem, MO; two sons, Jim Vaughn and wife Joyce and Dennis Vaughn and wife Robin all of Salem, MO; one daughter, Carolyn Emerson and husband Jerry of St. Peters, MO; ten grandchildren, Richard Emerson, Chris Emerson and wife Monica, Paula Stice and husband Scott, Laura Ruether and husband Keith, Jason Vaughn and wife Keli, Ellen Lauer and husband Craig, Jared Vaughn and wife Ashley, Alex Vaughn, Jenny Beams and husband Chance and Allison Vaughn; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Fleda Litty of Maryland Heights, MO; three sisters in-law, Martha Scates of Springfield, MO, Margaret Hutson and Fred Hutson both of Fenton, MO; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of fifty-nine years, Anna Elizabeth Vaughn; one brother, Carl Vaughn; one sister, Betty Ellis; and brothers in-law.

The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Honored to be serving as casket bearers were Richard Emerson, Scott Stice, Chris Emerson, Jason Vaughn, Jared Vaughn and Alex Vaughn with Paul Sanders, David Sanders, Tim Sanders, David Hutson and Mike Thompson as honorary casket bearers.
