Norman L. Pim, age 95, formerly of Salem, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Emeritus of Canton Assisted Living in Canton. He was born April 29, 1917 in Beechwood, Ohio, the son of the late Willard Loren and Lena (Crew) Pim. Mr. Pim retired as a senior designer from E.W. Bliss in Salem after 30 years where he had also worked in the Engineering Department and Drafting Room. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served as deacon and elder for the church. Norman was a member of the Trades Class of 1948, Square Wheels Square Dance Club and the Retiree’s Hyde-A-Way Golf League. He served with the U.S. Army. His wife, Helen (Means) Pim, whom he married June 20, 1942, preceded him in death March 26, 1997. Survivors include a son, Thomas Pim of Salem; four daughters, Normadene Lieder of Tallmadge, Frances Hill of Stow, Susan Salmen of Raleigh, NC and Nancy Baker of Salem; a sister, Esther Shelton of Dade City, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
