Norman “Sonny” Krieger, 76, of New Troy, Michigan, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, December 31, 2006 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.Sonny was born December 15, 1930 in Sawyer, Michigan to Conrad and Olga (Lunog) Krieger. He graduated from New Troy High School in 1948. On December 2, 1950 Sonny married Jeannine Boyd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer, Michigan. He was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer, raising his family in the church and serving as an Elder, a member of the church and school boards, mowing the church grounds, and singing in the choir for over 50 years.

He was employed by John G. Yerington, Benton Harbor, Michigan. After his retirement, Sonny and his son Skip were instrumental in establishing Summit Powder Coating in Benton Harbor.Survivors include his wife, Jeannine Krieger; daughters, Kathi (Dennis) Beckman; Tammie (Jeff) Schmidt and Sherri (Tom) Hausmann, all of Three Oaks; sons, Kim Krieger of New Troy and Tim (Ruth) Krieger of Berrien Springs, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Therese Krieger of Three Oaks, grandchildren, Amanda, Stephen, Rachel, Jeffrey, Kim, Ryan, Kayla, Mitchell and Maggie; great grandchildren, Emma, Jordan and Nolan; and his sister, Janice Briese of Sawyer. His son, Norman “Skip” Krieger preceded him in death on March 8, 2006.
