Norman Harvey Cabana passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday May 20, 2022. The son of the late Harvey Cabana and Emma (Valley) Cabana, Norman was born on May 12, 1931 in Barre, VT. He moved with his family to Easthampton, MA as a small child, where he lived all but the last six years of his life. There he met the love of his life, the late Jean (Morissette) Cabana.

Norman was a graduate of St Michael’s high school.

Norman had a long career in sales, retiring in 1992. He loved golfing, camping, traveling and most of all being with his family. Norman loved to have a good time and never turned away from a new adventure. Norman loved tubing down the river in VT with his grandchildren, white water rafting (the last time when he was almost 70) and he never shied away from a good roller coaster.

Norman loved to engage people in conversation. He was not great at remembering names so was quick to assign nicknames, but he always remembered the person’s story. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a devoted husband, amazing father and adoring grandfather. Norman was a loyal friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever asked.

He and Jean were present in all the events in the lives of their children and grandchildren no matter how big or small; in their eyes nothing they accomplished was insignificant. Pepe could always be counted on for whatever his grandchildren needed whether it was chauffeuring them to school, a sporting event or to friend’s houses or taking them camping or on vacation.

Norman leaves behind his four children; Michelle Cabana of Enfield, CT, Denise Cabana and her husband Doug Scott of Rocky Hill, CT, Jeffrey and his wife Jennifer Cabana of Easthampton, MA, and Laurie Cabana and her husband Chris Hopewell of Holyoke, MA. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Cabana and his wife Jessica Milcetich of Washington, DC, Joshua and his wife Lauren Cabana of Denver, CO, Zachary and his wife Lauren Cabana stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Molly Cabana of Boston, MA and two great granddaughters, Emily Cabana and Kennedy Cabana. He is survived by his sister Lorretta Hopkins, brother-in-law Al Morissette and his wife Diane, brother-in-law Clem Couchon and several nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his brothers Lawrence and Francis (Curly), brother-in-law JC Hopkins and his sisters-in-law Judy (Morissette) Couchon and Lillian (Young) Cabana.
