Norma M. Fluechtling, 94, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Parkview Home, Freeport, IL.  She was born, May 18, 1926 in Monroe, WI to John and Anna (Koehner) Rhyner.  She married Carl Fluechtling on June 12, 1946.  He died July 15, 1972.  She farmed with him for many years.

Norma was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Freeport for 75 years.  She was very involved in many community organizations including the Stephenson County Association for Home and Community Education for 65 years (serving as President, Treasurer and Ways and Means Chairperson).  In addition, she was a Sunday School teacher for 10 years, a 4-H leader for 17 years with the Pearl Valley Rangers, a member of the Stephenson County Genealogical Society for 19 years serving as a correspondence secretary for 8 years for the society, a volunteer at the Freeport Public Library in the history room, the Stephenson County Cooperative Extension Council, and the Stephenson County Farm Bureau.

Surviving her are her son, Richard of Palm Springs, CA; and her daughters, Carla Meyer of Baileyville and Norene of Vacaville, CA.   Also surviving are two grandsons, Carl (Angie) Meyer of Stillman Valley and Randy (Vanessa) Meyer of Genoa; and five great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; and son-in-law, Dennis Meyer.
