Norma Jean Zens, 65, of Peru passed away on Saturday July 18, 2015 in Heritage Health Care in Peru after a courageous battle with cancer.
Norma was born on November 8, 1949 in La Salle to Norman and Barbara S. (Dimond) Zens. She graduated from La Salle-Peru High School and began working at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru in the dietary department. She was a loyal employee of the hospital for over 40 years. After her retirement, she became a live-in caretaker for her beloved uncle, Welter Dimond who preceded her in death on July 14, 2015.

She is survived by two sisters Mary Jo (Joseph) Kotecki of Peru and Donna (William) Ficek of Butternut, WI; nieces Barbara (John) Connell, Colleen (Michael) Trench, Jennifer (Tim) Bias, Beth (John) Brinati, Stacie (Sean) Carney and Allison (Brian) Milus; and her special friend Glen McClendon. Norma’s life revolved around her nieces, their children and her Godson Justin Zens.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Norbert “Nibs” Zens.
