Norma Jean Farmer Lennartz, 80, passed away March 31, 2012 at Prairie Lake Nursing Center-Noblesville campus after a week long illness due to a massive stroke.

She was born November 23, 1931, to Myles and Esther Morgan Farmer. Norma married Richard Lennartz on February 27, 1951. Norma attended St. Mary’s School, but graduated in 1949 from the Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Indiana.

She also graduated from Anderson University in 1992. She retired from Anderson Banking Company PNC in 1993 as the personnel officer after 30 years of service. Norma was involved in many community activities and voluntary positions during her time at the bank.

She was an officer of Toastmasters. She was a recipient of the Business Woman of the Year award. Besides watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various activities, she enjoyed classical music, word and number puzzles, reading, watching all sports on TV, and loved the Olympics. Norma enjoyed traveling and communicating on Facebook.

Surviving relatives besides her husband Richard, are a brother, Jim Dorothy Farmer; son, David Cynthia Lennartz of Henderson, Nevada; daughter, Darlene Colin Robinson of Anderson; daughter-in-law, Kim Lennartz, widow of Dennis Lennartz, of Anderson; grandchildren, Leslie Eric Johnson of Fortville, Kyle Dakota Robinson of Anderson, Angi Don Shearer, and Misty Adam Bowers, both of Pendleton, Jamie Cory Lennartz of Valparaiso, Jordan Lennartz of Muncie, Dustin Lennartz of Anderson, Martin Mandy Lennartz of Avon, and Kerry Lennartz of Eugene, Oregon; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Douglas and Dennis Lennartz; granddaughter, Sandy Jean Lennartz; three sisters, Catherine Gibson, Mary Johnson and one-day-old Mary Elizabeth, who died in 1930; and two nephews, John and Joe Farmer.

A special thanks to all the employees of Prairie Lake nursing facility who treated us royally during our brief four night stay.
