Obituary of Norma Jean Brashier
BRASHIER, Norma Jean of Hemlock, Michigan passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was 70 years old. Norma Jean Brashier was born on June 26, 1943 in Chesaning, Michigan to the late Henry M. and Margaret Grace (Dowd) Brashier. Norma was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic High School. Following graduation, Norma began working for Illinois Shade/Graber for 19 years. She then opened and operated The Linen Closet in Saginaw. Norma then received training through Dow Chemical Company to become a Chemical Operator, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. Norma was a hockey enthusiast and loved the Detroit Red Wings. She enjoyed traveling and going to the Friday night dinners at the Savoy. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and Goddaughters and Godsons.
Surviving are a sister, Marjorie Trueschel of Venice, FL; a niece, Catherine Berger of Saginaw; a nephew, James (Christine) Cronkright of Hemlock; great nieces: Trisha and Lisa Berger of Saginaw; great nephews: Tyler and Kyle Cronkright of Hemlock; a great-great niece, Emeryss Hagerman of Saginaw; best friends: Merla “Kay” Simmons of Bridgeport, the late, Annie Marie Cronkright; special cousins: Chris Dees and Alan Lanczynski; special aunts: Alice Lanczynski and the late, Wilma; her beloved pug, Polly and her cat, George. Also surviving are many dear friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert D. Brashier.
