Norma Bolitho, 79, resident of West Des Moines, passed away at Ramsey Village on July 13, 2021 after battling lung cancer. Norma was born on October 21, 1941 in Norway, Michigan and grew up In Niagara, Wisconsin. In 1970 she became an English Professor at Grand View University in Des Moines. Upon her retirement in 2007 she was named Professor Emeritus. Her colleagues and students remember her dedication to education, wry humor, and the tremendous care she gave her students.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, Leonard and Gertrude Bolitho, and a sister, Marion, who died in infancy. She is survived by a sister, Susan Bolitho Zukowski, a nephew, Todd Zukowski and a niece, Tonya Zukowski Jarvie.
