Norma J. Stam Chance, 81, Anderson, passed away February 15, 2010 at Monticello House-Anderson after extended illness. She was born April 23, 1928 in Elwood, Indiana, and resided in Madison County all of her life.

Norma had previously resided at Crowne Pointe before moving to Monticello House.

Norma was a 1946 graduate of Elwood High School. She retired in 1987 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors Plant #11 after 41 years of service. She was a member of Pan & Platter Home Economics Club and the UAW #662.

Norma enjoyed photography, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Linda Parker of Alexandria, Becky & husband Ed Moore of Cicero, Robert Chance & fiancee Kimberly Springer of Anderson and Angie & husband Brian Elsten of Anderson; grandchildren, Kari Parker, Chris Moore, Megan Stevens, Kindra Carpenter, Ashly Lawson, Bobby Chance, Courtney Elsten, Josh Elsten and Brittany Elsten; grandson-in-law, Kevin Bus; great grandchildren, Bracey Carpenter, Zach Stevens, Noah Stevens, Eli Stevens and Cali Stevens; several nieces, nephews, special cousins and her special pets, Muffin and Angel.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Charles “Chuck” Chance on October 23, 1978; parents, Sherman F. & Hazel I. Disbennet Stam and three sisters, Joyce McCorkle, Beverly Roof and Carolyn McNeely. Special thanks to Dr. Ong and the staff of Monticello House for their loving care and support.
