Norinne Hardenbrook, 87, of Newton died on Tuesday, September 24, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
Norinne, the daughter of Charles and Ada (Whetstine) Shepherd, was born on February 21, 1932 in Lynnville. After the passing of her father, the family made their home in Newton. She graduated as the Salutatorian from the Newton High School class of 1950.
Those left to honor Norinne’s memory are her daughters, Jane Hiemstra of Newton and Carol (Carlo C.) Supino of Newton; grandchildren, Megan Hiemstra of Newton and Sam Supino of Newton; Sisters-in-law, Marie Hardenbrook of Newton, Darlene Head of Des Moines and Pat Shepherd of Bakersfield, California; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Charles Shepherd and Ada Shepherd Chambers; her husband; siblings, Charles Shepherd, Mary Lou Wickliff and Doris Fosenburg. Also passing on the same day as Norinne was her brother, Robert Shepherd, of Bakersfield, California.
