Noreen C. Shea, 72, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013.
She was born on January 9, 1941 to the late Patrick and Sheila A. (Murphy) Matthews in Chicago, IL, and has lived most of her life in New Carlisle, IN. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Carmody.
Mrs. Shea was retired from J & B Products in South Bend, IN. Prior to that, she worked at Easy Heat in New Carlisle, IN for many years.
On October 19, 1963, as Noreen C. Matthews, she married Philip R. Shea, Jr. in Chicago, IL.
Noreen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Philip R. Shea, Jr. of New Carlisle, IN; her daughter, Gloria Stambaugh of Elkhart, IN; her son, Patrick E. Shea of South Bend, IN; a granddaughter, Margaret Stambaugh of New Carlisle, IN; one great-grandson, Troy Shidler of New Carlisle, IN; a sister, Sheila Gummerson of Schaumburg, IL; and many nieces & nephews.
Noreen was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and American Legion Post #297 Ladies Auxiliary, both in New Carlisle, IN. She enjoyed bowling, camping, reading, crocheting, and doing crafts. 201 S.
