She was born April 28, 1947, in Petite Forte, Newfoundland, Canada to the late Osborne and Melinda Cheeseman Hayden.
Nora attended Holy Heart of Mary, General Hospital School of Nursing in St John’s, NL and majored as a dental assistant at Florida College in Jacksonville, FL.
On April 18, 1970, she married Donald L. Hankins in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.
Nora worked in Nursing and as a Dental assistant as well as a para-professional while her children were in school.
She was a member of Tippecanoe Home Ec Club / Laughing Lassies.
Surviving are her husband, Donald L. Hankins of Lafayette, two sons, Mark Hankins and Scott Hankins both of Lafayette, a daughter, Sarah Hankins of Lafayette, three sisters, Blanche Dyer, Barbara Anthony, and Mary (Czesick) Bilka, along with four brothers, Eric Hayden, Jim Hayden, David Hayden, and Ed (Mary) Hayden all of Canada. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Macy Eberle.
Nora was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hayden and a brother, Joe Hayden.
