Nora Elizabeth Scarce Moore, 87 of 1507 Westover Drive died Monday June 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 21, 1925 in Whitmell, VA to the late Charlie Andrew Scarce and the late Martha Elizabeth Thornton Scarce. Mrs. Moore was married to Arthur J. “George†Moore of the residence. She was a member of Gatewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore worked as a bookkeeper for Big Star foods. In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters; Patricia “Pat†Moore Meeks of Danville and Irene Moore Barrett and husband “Larry†of Ringgold, VA: one son; Adrian Terry Moore and wife “Nancy†of Gastonia NC: two sisters; Louisa S. Woodson and Peggy S. Soyers and husband “Jerry†all of Danville: two sister-in-laws; Gladys M. Jones of Danville and Mary Jean M. Newcomb and husband “William†of VA Beach: ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
