Nona L Conn, 83 of Fellowsville, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Thornton, WV on February 3, 1927, daughter of the late, William Eugenious and Margaret Elizabeth Annon Waddell Larew. Surviving is her husband John Arnold Conn whom was married, August 24, 1943; two sons, James Arnold Conn and wife Diane, Ballston Spa, NY, Keith Alan Conn and wife Kathy, Fellowsville; four grandchildren, Donald, Renee, Cynthia and Mikel; eleven great grandchildren, Kelli, Jonathan, Maria, Aiyana, Duncan, Jada, Lynsey, Trisha, Declan, Ethan and Parker; one great great grandchildren, Caleb; one brother, Paul J Larew; one sister, Ada Caroline Conn; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Waddell, Lester Waddell and Justice Larew; two sisters, Velma Waddell Pierce and Freda Laverne Larew Mitter. Nona and her husband operated the Creamery in Fellowsville in the 1940’s. She worked at the school as a cook at Fellowsville School between 1965 and 1968. They owned and operated Conn’s Grocery in Fellowsville from July 1968 to May 1997. Nona then went to work for Penmarva as a filing clerk and retired in October 2006. Nona loved to garden, can, cook, sew and bake. She made quilts for most of her family and friends and many lap robes and quilts that she donated to other organizations. She attended the Newburg Senior Center. She was a member of the Fellowsville United Methodist Church, Sandy Creek C.E.O.S and Tunnelton Ladies Auxiliary, VFW 2345. She also volunteered for many years with the Fellowsville Vol. Fire Department.
