Noel Kenneth Wosczyna, 68, of West Hartford, CT, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Linda Staphos Wosczyna for 44 years and the son of the late John A. and Stasia (Petry) Wosczyna. Born and raised in Hartford, he spent the majority of his adult life in West Hartford with his family. Noel graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1964, attended Prince Tech and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Expert Badge with Rifle. He owned and operated N & W Wrecker Service and Sales in W. Hartford for 40 years. He was a passionate chef and foodie, and also enjoyed gardening and fishing in his spare time. He was a great friend to many, cared about and helped people, even once saving his neighbor from her burning house, and loved children and animals, especially his dear grand-dog “Mac”. Besides his wife, Linda, he leaves his two sons Kenneth John Wosczyna of Norwalk, Michael Nicholas Wosczyna and his wife Lisa (Brasile) of Palo Alto, CA, two brothers Michael Wosczyna of W. Granby, Wayne Wosczyna and his wife Marcia of Farmington, his sister Karen Wosczyna-Birch of Farmington, and his brothers-in-law Norman Staphos of Hartford, Nicholas Staphos of W. Hartford, and John Birch. In addition, he is survived by his nephews Patrick Birch, Stephen Popper and his wife Georgia, Bryan Wosczyna, nieces Jennifer Meyers and her husband Tim, and Kari Deegan.
