Noble V. Ercole Age 96 of Flushing, Michigan passed away Monday, February 13, 2017.The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home in Owosso on Thursday February 16, 2017 from 12noon until the time of service. A Celebration of Life service with military honors will follow at the funeral home at 1pm. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.Noble was born on May 28, 1920 in Tunnelton, PA. He grew up in Owosso, where he graduated high school in the class of 1939. He was a graduate of Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan, majoring in education. He married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Shuster on July 13, 1940 in Owosso and they were married for 67 years.A WWII veteran, Noble served in the Navy in the South Pacific. He participated in all naval amphibious landings from Guadalcanal to the battle of Iwo Jima. Noble had a long career teaching in Flint and the surrounding areas. Many summers were spent with his wife and son in southern Utah where he enjoyed mineral prospecting. Noble was predeceased by his wife and brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Jon (Linda), grandchildren; Darla Grubb (Tim), Mike Ercole (Michelle,) Bill Collins-Carey (Ann), Lori Bailey (Brian) and 7 great grandchildren.
