Nina Crouch Allen, 72, beloved mother and wife, sister and grandmother passed away quietly Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville. A resident of 150 James Road, Danville Mrs. Allen was born May 28, 1938 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Bertha Matherly Crouch and the late Emory Wilson Crouch. Nina was of the Baptist faith, and worked as an Inspector with Durham Hosiery for many years. She is survived by her husband, Melvin D. Allen, of the residence; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Cook of Pelham, NC; a son, Stephen Douglas Allen of Danville and a sister, Janice C. Smith of Yanceyville, NC. Nina is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
