Nikolas Ray Stoltzner “Nik”, age 27 of Crooked Lake, died on August 31, 2021. He was born on June 23, 1994, in Rostov on Don, Russia. When Nik was two years old, he was adopted by Cheryl Stoltzner and brought to Michigan. He attended Mattawan High School, where he enjoyed throwing shotput on the track team. In 10th grade he met Kaila Sikkenga and they began dating.

They graduated in 2012. He started to work for American Custom Construction, where he continued to work as a general laborer until his death. Mike Hall became a father figure and mentor to Nik during his time working for the builder. On June 10, 2017, Nik and Kaila were married. They rejoiced at the birth of sweet Oliver Ray two and half years ago.

Nik loved nothing more than to play with Oliver and share time with him. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, hockey, muscle building, dirt bikes, and RC Trucks and Boats. There was always music playing when Nik was around, and he enjoyed country and R&B mostly. He had always been a water baby. Nik was most at peace when near a lake, beach, or the ocean.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and will never know how much he was truly loved. His family includes his wife, Kaila Stoltzner; his son, Oliver Ray Stoltzner; his mom, Cheryl “Cheri” Stoltzner; his sister, Amy Stoltzner; his parents-in-law, Heather Sikkenga and Mark (Patti) Sikkenga; his brother-in-law, Nick Sikkenga; his mentor and friend, Mike Hall; his friend and Oliver’s Godmother, Alyssa Abraham, and several cousins.
