Nicholas Blake Eli Cox, 22, of Virden, IL, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Oct. 26, 1996, in Overland Park, KS, the son of Beth McNeal and Marcus Cox.
He is survived by his mother of Springfield; his father of Overland Park, KS; his sister, Maci Cox of Virden; maternal grandmother Phyllis Tarvin of Springfield; maternal grandfather Richard McNeal of Philadelphia; and paternal grandmother Mary Ruth Cox of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ray Cox.
Blake was a 2015 graduate of North Mac High School in Virden. He worked for Tranter in Farmersville. He enjoyed hanging out with his best friend, Ben Carney, and he especially enjoyed his car. He loved his sister dearly, and he was a “Mama’s Boy”.
