Neva Mae Tempel, 69, of Pearl City, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at her home after a short battle with ovarian cancer.
Born November 12, 1941 in Freeport she was the daughter of Alvin and Eva (Williamson) Suess. She married Don E. Tempel October 14, 1961.Neva worked with her husband on the farm and with her son at Shannon Marine. She enjoyed making crafts and sharing them with others at various craft stores in the area. She prided herself on making her family’s house a home. Neva was always thinking of others before herself. She liked baking and was known as making the best chocolate cake and grape pie.
She was a member of Shannon Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband Don of Pearl City; her daughter, Cynthia RT (Mike) Klebe of Muscatine, Iowa; her sons, Stephen E. (Marsha) Tempel of Temecula, California and Scott R. (Lowela) Tempel of Freeport; 2 sisters, Rita (Don) Christians of Rockford and Mary (Nathan) Beach of Freeport; 1 brother, L.A. Suess of Hannibal, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Cassidy, Nickolas, and Brandi Tempel of Freeport; Skylar, Braden, and MaKenna Tempel of Temecula, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
