Edna (Nena) Medina Mosqueda, passed away on January 29, 2015 in Tempe, AZ. She was born on May 22, 1937 to Cruz and Frances Medina Sr. in Scottsdale, AZ. Edna attended Scottsdale Elementary, as well as, St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix. She portrayed Our Lady of Guadalupe in the first Miracle of the Roses Pageant in Scottsdale In 1953. Edna was an activist in the Chicano Movement in the 1970’s. Edna is survived by her husband Sergio Mosqueda, 4 children; Steve Medina Hufsteter, Cipriana (Dana) Harrison, Pablo Huffsteter and Xilonen (John) Oreshnick; 7 siblings; Gilbert (Gloria) Medina, Bob Medina, Cruz (Frances) Medina Jr., Margaret Valenzuela, Rosemary Vasquez, Brigida Osborn and George (Eleanor) Medina and 7 grandchildren.
