Nelson R. Bachman, 89, of Toms River, NJ passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born in Irvington, NJ, he lived in Caldwell, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1982.
Nelson was an Operating Engineer for Local 825, Springfield, NJ for 40 years, retiring in 1987. Mr. Bachman was a US Navy WWII Veteran. He was a parishioner of St. John’s RC Church, Lakehurst, NJ, and was a former member of St. Barnabas RC Church, Bayville, NJ. Nelson was a member of the AMVETS, Jackson, NJ, and was a life member of the American Legion Post 185, Caldwell, NJ.
He was predeceased by his wife Pauline in 1977. Nelson is survived by 3 sons and their spouses Nelson Jr. & Ann-Marie Bachman of North Brunswick, NJ, Dennis E. & Carol Bachman of Laurel, DE, Robert M. & Janet Bachman of Gainesville, GA; a daughter and her spouse Nancy Ann & John Golden of Hernando Beach, FL, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his companion of 20 years Idamay Eaton.
