Nellie Ione Hill

Nellie Ione Hill, 89, a gentle spirited woman, a loving wife, a devoted mother, friend and caregiver, was born August 9, 1924 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Loy and Violet (Wright) Blakey. She married Walter “Vearl” Hill on August 26, 1939. Their 5 children were born in Heber Springs, and later moved to Oregon, where she had worked as a cook in a restaurant and a nursing home. Moving to Beaverton, Oregon, they started a floor cleaning business until retirement, when they moved back to Arkansas. She moved to Sparks, Nevada in 2001 to be near her daughters, Loyce and Frances.
She was a devout member of the Heber Springs Church of Christ, and later, the North Virginia Church of Christ in Reno, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Walter Vearl Hill; a son, Lonnie V Hill; sisters: Elbertha Barnes and Estus Snow; brothers: Ollie R Blakey and Virgil Joe Blakey; and 3 other siblings, who died in their childhood.
She is survived by daughters: Loyce Scolari-Palmore of Sparks, Nevada, Frances Reyman of Reno, Nevada, and Kathryn Breuer of Mesa, Arizona; and a son, Keith Hill of Salem, Oregon; and numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Nellie Ione Hill passed onto her everlasting life with her Lord on July 27, 2014. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
