Nellie G. Smith, 88, of Bloomington, died on Tuesday at Bloomington Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Nellie was born on October 16, 1921 in Tennessee and was the daughter of Enos Faye and Avis Julia (Coates) Reed. She was a homemaker and loved being with and enjoying her family.
Survivors include one daughter Bess Elliott and her husband Vern of Bloomington, two sons, Cliff Smith and wife Darlena of Ellettsville and Ben Smith and wife Mabel of Bloomington, 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Betty Peek of Portage, Indiana, and four brothers, Bob Reed of Mishawaka, Indiana , Bill Reed, Howard Reed and Ross Reed all of Manchester, Tennessee. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Smith in 1975, her parents and three brothers, Herbert, Don and James.
