Mrs. Nelda Suzanne Thornton Spruiell, 69, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO..M.. Chris McAlilly officiating…. Born in Lubbock, TX to the late Walter Bruce and Loise Marie Ragland Thornton, Suzanne worked as a fundraising consultant for the Princeton University and other private schools. A longtime Methodist, she was a member of OUUMC and, throughout her life, was active in nine United Methodist Churches across the country, even working as a secretary in several churches she attended. Locally at OUUMC, she established the Sojourners Sunday School Class. Her servant’s heart led her to volunteer with the Red Cross and The Pantry in Oxford where she often purchased food to stock the shelves. Survivors include her husband, Tony P.
