Neil Wade Poindexter, 46, of Blountsville, Henry Co., Indiana died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Richmond. He was born on March 15, 1972 in Muncie, the son of David Grant and Hollis “Holly” Star (Abbott) Poindexter. Neil graduated in 1990, from Wapahani High School, Selma, Delaware Co., and some years later gradated from Ivy Tech in Richmond where he received an Associates degree.
Neil was artistically gifted with his hands whether drawing sketches, building realistic models or getting greasy up to his elbows working on automobiles. What a wonderful sense of humor he had, beautiful blue eyes, and an unforgettable laugh. He was a kind-hearted soul always ready to be of any help to others in need.
Neil leaves to cherish his memory his mother Holly Poindexter; brother Christopher “Shawn” (Amanda) Poindexter of New Castle, IN; nephew and niece, who he loved as if they were his own, Michael and Mariah Poindexter; aunts and uncles Freda “Kay” (Allen) Teagle of Mooreland, IN Garry (Susan) Poindexter of Muncie, In, Gerald (Faye) Abbott of New Castle, IN, Jane (David) Rains of Spring, TX, Tracy (Paul) Nunley of Mooreland, IN, Douglas (companion Margie) Abbott of Mooreland, IN, Macinda Abbott of Mooreland, IN, and Laura Smith of Springport, IN; many cousins and friends; pet companion Janicat.

Neil is preceded in death by his father David Grant Poindexter, who died on July 13, 2017.
