In 1952, Neil began his 32-year career in the Air Force at Eglin A.F.B., serving as a Munitions Systems Supervisor in Vietnam, and ending his career as Chief of the EOD Shop (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) at Eglin A.F.B. in 1984.
In 1958, in Ramstein Germany, Neil met the love of his life and best friend, Hazel Cooper, who was performing with Ivy Benson’s All Girl Orchestra. He served as band manager in his spare time, and they were married in 1961.
Neil is preceded in death by this brother Dale and parents Vernon and Beulah. Neil is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years Hazel; three daughters, Debbie Schaible, Linda Schaible (Kristen Hart), and Julie (Gary) Robins; grandchildren Eric Hood, April (Ted) English, Ben O’Born, and Rachel O’Born; great-grandchildren Kyerra and Daisy English; and his faithful dog Buddy.
