Neil Clement Foor, 93, of Midland, passed away on Nov. 10, 2014. He was born on July 7, 1921 to the late Harrison and Christine (Pardee) Foor in Bay City, Michigan. Neil was raised in the Whittemore area, and graduated from Whittemore High School in 1939. After graduation, he attended welding school in Pontiac, MI, and worked as a welder until he was drafted. Neil proudly served on active duty during WWII in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Fairbanks, AK. After the war, he attended Northwestern Business College in Bay City. He was employed by the Dow Chemical Co. for 35 years, most of that time spent as a lab technician, working with asphalts. Neil was listed as an inventor on multiple patents. He enjoyed reading, bowling and golf in his spare time. He was a true fan of the Detroit Tigers.

On May 18, 1957, he married Earldine Enszer at First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. They were married for 57 years and raised three daughters. In 1960, Neil and Earldine, along with a small group of families, were commissioned by First United Methodist Church to found a new congregation in Midland. They became charter members of the newly-formed Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Neil served the church for many years as a Sunday school teacher and in various board and committee positions.

Neil is survived by his wife Earldine, daughters Beth (Harry) Smith and Barbara (Scott) Schaffer, all of Midland; and Belinda Foor (Mike Powell) of Chicago, IL.; four grandchildren, Erik (Kristy) Schaffer of Grand Haven, MI; Erica Smith of Williamsburg, VA; Jeffrey Schaffer of Chicago, IL; and Jordan Smith of Midland; brother, William (Norma) Foor, of Bentley, MI and several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Conn and Gladys Newman; his brother, Harrison Foor Jr.; and his beloved grandson, Joshua Drake.

The family would like to thank Cascades Senior Living for the wonderful care that Neil received during the last few months of his life.
