Neale C. Park, 79, of Pembroke (formerly of Plymouth) passed away on March 3rd at home, surrounded by his family, following a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan (Clapp) Park of Pembroke; his two daughters, Erika O’Neil and her husband Brian of Weymouth, and Tiffany Park and her partner Debra Anusewicz of Plymouth; his grandson and best pal, Connor O’Neil of Weymouth; and many relatives in both the Clapp and Park families. Neale is predeceased by his siblings, Robert “Andrew” Park, Herbert Park, Cynthia Park, and Charles Park. Born in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Miriam E. (Nelson) Park and the late Robert H. Park, Neale and his mother ultimately relocated to Quincy, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Quincy High School, Class of 1960. During his high school years, Neale played on the school soccer team and discovered the passion of his life, skiing, at which he excelled. Neale learned the trade of masonry and worked as a successful, self-employed stone mason, right up until his diagnosis with cancer at the age of 78. He leaves a legacy of craftsmanship — chimneys, hearths, steps, patios and stone walls — that will withstand the test of time in numerous homes throughout the entire South Shore, for decades — perhaps centuries — to come.
