Neal William Bales, beloved husband of Lana Patch, passed away on September 20, 2011 at home. He was 61 years old.
He suffered a short but terrible battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Lana K. Patch, MD, his father Robert L. Bales, Sr., his mother-in-law Margie Patch, his son Warren Chandler (Beau) Bales of Athens, Georgia, and his brothers Wesley Bales and Robert Bales. His first grandchild is scheduled to be born in December, 2011.
He is also survived by his loving cats and dogs. Neal was a carpenter, landlord, adventurer, pirate, diver, pilot and rogue. He spent most of his life in the Florida Keys and the Caribbean with many a tale to tell. He was loving, giving, happy, and a good friend to many.
