Nathan V. Hughes, 40, passed away Saturday September 3, 2011 at his home in New Castle. He was born January 15, 1971 in Greenfield and graduated from Pendleton Heights High School.
He served 16 years in the Indiana National Guard and also previously served two years in the United States Navy. Nathan enjoyed NASCAR, rooting for the Indianapolis Colts and U.S. military history.
He is survived by his wife Paula (McCubbins) Hughes, whom he married on July 4, 1998; mother Ingrid (Stach) Hughes of Fortville; father Gerald Hughes of Alabama; daughters Holly Ann Hughes of Anderson and Nikki Lynn Hughes of Fortville; brothers Scott (Lourdes) Hughes of Chesterfield and Clint (Carol) Hughes of Huntley, IL; sister Michelle (Jeff) Romeril of Fortville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by uncle Lawrence Hughes and his grandparents.
