Nancy Sue (Nelson) Stair, age 94 of Viera Fl, formerly of Edina MN, passed away on Saturday April 24, 2021. She is now at peace with our Lord. Nancy was beloved wife of Cdr. Robert Ned Stair, USNR, Ret, sharing 73 years of a loving and joyous marriage. She will be profoundly missed by her loving husband Bob.
She is survived by her children, Robbie (Nancy Smith) of Rockledge, Fl, David (Scott Anderson) of Titusville, Fl, Carolyn and son-in-law Philip Borchardt of St. Paul, MN, three grandchildren Richard (Michelle) Borchardt, Craig (Brittni Borchardt and Alena (Dave Wright) Stair, plus eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sister, Janet and brother-in-law Charlie Czeschin of Naples, Fl.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, November 10, 1926, she met Robert Stair when he was in ROTC at Park College, MO. Attended Missouri University majoring in Art, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. After college, she was employed by Hallmark Greeting Cards as a card designer. Married Robert Ned Stair on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1948 and they were stationed in Hawaii for the next 7 months. Moved to Prairie Village, KS and then to Edina, MN, where they lived for 38 years. She was a member and past president of Manamore, a women’s art club in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Florida in 1996 and settled in the Viera East Golf Course Community. She was active in the Viera East Residents Art Group and was commissioned to design and paint a mural for the Residence Clubhouse.
