     Nancy P. Sauer, 93, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.

     Born Feb. 16, 1924, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Lenna M. (Braddock) Person Sr.

     Nancy earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Dickinson College and a bachelor of science degree from Lycoming College. She spent 23 years in education as a teacher at Loyalsock Township High School.

     Nancy was a life member of Pine Street United Methodist Church and served on the altar guild and membership committee. She was part of the Loyalsock Garden Club, Clio Club and loved to cheer on the Philadelphia Phillies and her grandchildren at their many sporting events. Nancy had a special place in her heart for the family cabin on Loyalsock creek where many summers were spent and fond memories were made.

     Nancy enjoyed life, family members and many friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others and her role as an educator and mentor did not stop at the classroom door as she impacted the lives of many.

     Surviving are four children who were the pride and joy of her life, Barbara S. (Stephen) Flock, of Williamsport, Marcia S. Spariosu, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Robert B. (Susan) Sauer, of Montoursville, and Patricia E. Bausinger, of Williamsport; her beloved grandchildren, Corey C. Flock and Bryan W. Bausinger, both of Williamsport, Rachel A. (Ryan) Schreiter, of Wyndmoor, Matthew T. Bausinger, of Montoursville; two great-grandchildren, Annette and Ezra; and a brother, John E. “Jack” Person Jr., of Williamsport. The legacy of Nancy’s kind spirit, passion for family, faith and zest for life will live on through them.

     Nancy was preceded in death by a sister, MaryHelen P. Gates and a son-in-law, John P. Spariosu.
