Nancy Jean Cook Barkes Wilson, 75, of Anderson, passed away on October 15, 2019 at St.Vincent’s Hospice.
She was born on July 4, 1944 in Columbus, Indiana. Nancy married her loving husband William “Bill” Wilson in Edinburgh, Indiana in 1971 and spent 48 wonderful years together. Nancy graduated from Columbus North High School in 1962. She was a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star #154, a member of Eastern Star of Pendleton #138, and the White Shrine. Nancy worked at Mounds State Park working the front gate and pool admittance where she was lovingly called “Mom”. Nancy was a lifelong homemaker.
Nancy will be missed by her loving spouse William “Bill” Wilson, son, Rusty (Jessica) Wilson, grandchildren, Kiley and Jared Wilson, brothers, David (Kathy) Cook, and Robert (Paula) Cook, sister-in-laws Wilma Goodwin, Janice (Chester) Foster, and Barbara (Terry) Harrington, brother-in-law, Herbert (Janet) Wilson, half-sister, Gail Lang, several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Rockey.
She was preceded in death by son, Robert Barkes, Jr., siblings, Joseph Cook and Mary Lou Cochran, and parents, Mable and Aaron Cook.
