Nancy Jean Comings, 69, of Troutman, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
Nancy was born on October 3, 1947 in Deposit, New York to the late Alvin Sherman and Jane Carson Sherman.
Nancy worked in the Iredell Statesville School System as a bus driver and teacher’s assistant. She was a dedicated volunteer of the Good News Club at Troutman Elementary and loved children’s evangelism. She was an active member of Mountain Road Baptist Church, where she shared her beautiful voice singing in the choir. She was very creative and enjoyed card making and scrapbooking.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Patrick Philip Comings; son, Paul Comings of Statesville; daughters, Maureen Cutting (Jamie) of New York and Charlene Comings of Troutman; sister, Terri Sherman of Concord; brother, David Sherman (Andrea) of Florida, and seven grandchildren, all of whom will dearly cherish her memory.
