Nancy Jean Bateman, 76, of Denver, Co, passed peacefully on February 12, 2022. Born on September 23, 1945, she grew up in Wisconsin, married her high school sweetheart, and started a family. She moved to Colorado with her first husband Russell J Smerchek in 1973, once she laid eyes on the Rocky Mountain’s there was no turning back for her. Nancy had an extensive career in mortgage banking, she loved helping people get into their dream home. She raised four hard-working children and was the best grandma to 12 grandchildren. Nancy loved Rock & Roll and cruising in her Jeep. She was preceded in her passing by her husband Terry Bateman, grandson Steven Keith Smerchek, and her parents William and Shirley Dehn. She is survived by her daughter Jodi Smerchek, 3 sons, Steve Smerchek, Keith Smerchek, Josh Taro and 12 beautiful grandchildren.
Anyone who had the privilege to meet Nancy was immediately attracted to her great smile and keen sense of humor. Nancy loved to laugh, but make no mistake she would kick your butt when necessary.
We love you Nancy, you took a piece of everyone you loved with you, but most important we all got to take a piece of you.
