Nancy J. Jacobs, 79, of Pearl City, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 11, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Orpha Fike. She married August W. “Augie” Jacobs on July 16, 1952 in Freeport. Nancy spent most of her life as a homemaker, wife and mother. She loved her home and was totally devoted to her family. Nancy touched the lives of hundreds in the community through her music, teaching both piano and organ for over 40 years.

She also worked for General Casualty Insurance Company for several years. She was a member of Zion Church and was an organist there for over 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, Augie of Pearl City; three daughters, Theresa “Terri” Leniton of Loveland, CO, Dina (Dave) Smith of Norwalk, IA and Doreen (Rick) Diddens of Windsor, WI; one son, Tracy Jacobs of Pearl City; nine grandchildren, Matt Jacobs, Nathan (Jennifer) Jacobs, Jessie Jacobs, Casey (Miles) Anthony, Silas Jacobs, Sean Leniton, Stephanie Smith, Mitchell Smith and Nick Diddens; and one great grandson, James Anthony.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Dean Jacobs.
