Nancy Frake Stevenson was born April 5, 1933 and died peacefully in her Burlington, NJ home on June 5, 2014 at the age of 81. In her last days she was surrounded by family, friends and neighbors. As a graduate of Burlington City High School’s Class of 1951 she went on to work her first job at Bell Telephone in Beverly, NJ. She later went on to work for Burlington City School District as a “Lunch Lady”, a job she would hold for over 30 years. Another title she enjoyed was being the “Ticket Lady” for BCHS’s sporting events.
While working at the schools she established many friendships with students, co-workers & other faculty. Preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Minnie (Davis) Frake; her husband Howard (Mope) Stevenson; her brother Clifton Frake; and sister Doris Kovach. Nancy leaves behind her children Lou Ann & Robert McIntyre and Duane Stevenson; her grandchildren, Scott and Michelle McIntyre, Sean McIntyre & Megan Farmer, Amy and Andrew McGoff, Joseph Stevenson and Eric Stevenson; her great-grandchildren, Cameron & Brandon McIntyre, Riley Stevenson and Penelope & Drew McGoff. There was nothing that made her happier than being called “GG” be her great-grandchildren.
She was also survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. It was important to her that family and friends know how thankful she was for all their love and support during her illness. Clifton Frake and Loretta Page, her nephew and niece, made it possible for her to maintain her independence and live at home as long as she did. Life-long friends, Ruth Rotenbury & Phyllis Whelan provided endless amounts of emotional support.
