The world lost one of its brightest lights with the passing of Nancy A. Bleakley Warn on February 14, 2020. Nancy died at her home in Lake Park, FL surround by family, friends and her faith.
Born in Peekskill, NY on April 10th, 1941 to former mayor of Peekskill Cyrus A. Bleakley and Cornelia P. Bleakley, Nancy loved her hometown and started her 50-year dental hygienist career in the Peekskill School District. Nancy was instrumental in starting the nation’s mobile dental van serving underprivileged communities in Westchester County, NY. She was active in Peekskill politics serving as Republican Party City Committee District Leader, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was a communicant of Church of the Assumption.
Nancy was gregarious, fun-loving and never missed an opportunity to lend a hand or a smile. She was most proud of her four sons Major Timothy S. Warn (Audrey) USA Ret., of Peekskill, Christopher R. Warn (Carrie Ann) of Washingtonville, Robert B. Warn of New York City and Craig B. Warn of New York City/Queechy Lake, NY. She adored her grandchildren, Brenton, Alexander, Danielle, Gillian and Gwyneth and especially loved playing games and spending time at the beach with them.
Recently, she enjoyed time spent on Queechy Lake in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, again surrounded by family, old and new friends. She enjoyed boating, dinners on the dock, late-night dance parties and was always the life of the party!
She is survived by her sister, Susan M. Bleakley, her 4 sons, and her 5 grandchildren.
